Awaken to reality only to find
An all too familiar place of sand.
The journey in God's meadow was behind
In a desert of too many demands.
Alone with haunting winds and unanswered prayers,
Each day promised more of the same.
Where was the porch with all the chairs
Where brokenness was the aim?
Who is brave enough to listen to the pain,
Willing to meet heart to heart?
From closeness and togetherness, all seem to abstain
Or simply hide beneath congeniality and then depart.
Community is said to be "The Safest Place on Earth"
A relationship that we understand least.
A place where each has value and worth
And what we seek has not ceased.
Marcus
"The Safest Place on Earth" is the title to a book by Larry Crabb.
